Planning for start/finish line tents at ms150 events

It is not too early to start planning for the next MS150 rides.

One of the things that has stood out for our team has been the feeling of family, and the celebration at the finish line tent.

A large part of this has been the food that we serve.

In the beginning (2010 to 2015) Celeste and I would cook a brisket or two, and some sides, along with beer, soft drinks, and margaritas.  By 2019 our ridership had grown, and it had become WAY more than an individual family could support, so we funded it with some of the proceeds from the Meat Fight event.  Since that time Meat Fight has become involved in more activities than ever before, and our national teams have grown from 2 or 3 teams to over 30 teams.  This calls for some restructuring of the way we handle the start/finish line tents and the way in which we fund them.  This is much more complicated than I can discuss in a quick email, but I plan to break it down into smaller pieces and ask for your help.

The things that I want to start working on are:

Pre event get together

Do we want or need a tent, tables and chairs

Menu to serve at the tent

Volunteers at the tent

For now I would like to know who would appreciate a start/finish line tent with tables and chairs, and what if anything we should provide for food and drinks

I would appreciate any feedback that you can give.

Please either comment here or email me at mikecasey@meatfight.com

Thanks

Mike
